PROCESS OF MAKING THE FILM POSTER

The process of making the film poster really came down to trial and error. We started with a landscape image, as the image was very clear and well lit.

Regarding the font, I downloaded several different ones from daft.com. The fonts we chose between were titled Aubrey, Neou, Tall films and Marbre Sans, which is the one we went for.

I researched several different film posters, however not many film posters are presented landscape. Due to the colours and orientation of the poster, it was hard to place the text in the appropriate places, and by the end of the poster I felt it looked a bit all over the place, and the landscape option didn't really work out. Time to start again!

I searched for my favorite portrait image, and found this one. We decided this would be much easier to present and make look more professional, as all the posters I researched were portrait I had a guide to follow to ensure I got the layout right. Sticking with the marbre sans font, I added the actors names along the top, the title of the film followed by the tagline, with the reviews along the bottom. The reviews proved to be difficult, as the color and font had to stand out against the dark purple as well as the white. If the font was too dark, it blended in to Dawn's outfit, however if the font was too light it blended into the background. I experimented with several different tones of grey, pink and copper. Copper is photographed here but we are still unsure on what color to make these reviews.

I am very happy with the finished film poster.
